Film workshop at 25 FPS: No Dominion – Everything Speaks

We thought that our job was to capture reality but this tool we chose is like a ventriloquist’s dummy possessed by unknown spirits, it speaks without our control.

"In this two-day workshop we will share some of our personal methods for working with analogue film to expand the field of documentary film. On the first day we will show and discuss a selection of our work. Then we will go out and shoot an exercise. We will use black and white negative, reversal and print 16mm film to create a collaborative visual interpretation of a single space. On the second day we will go into the darkroom to work with different developing techniques to manipulate and transform the footage. Afterwards we will try out some alternative approaches to exhibition by using multiple projectors. Together we will attempt to assemble a single piece that can be performed by the group live." Mentors: Anja Dornieden and Juan David González Monroy.
