Audiovisual live performance
Performers: Kerstin Nagel, André Aspelmeier

The most precise word to describe Hamburg experimental electronic duo incite/'s field of interest is fragment, whose meaning indicates a piece ripped or torn off, or broken. Fragmentation as an aesthetic postulate and the process of breaking the audio-visual unity into pieces is implemented through digital separation and disintegration of minimal electronic rhythmical compositions and their synchronisation with the abstract grayscale-generated video image. Dissolution, fragmentation and slowing down of rhythmical structures, traces of "electric junk" through bursts and sudden ruptures of static noise and combined deep bass with pulsing beats create a sound image of highly dynamic drive. The merged video environment does not merely accompany the sound field, but is an equal part introducing balance into the vivid play of integrating fragments of visual, auditive and performative layers into a rounded audio-visual whole. incite/ have won many international recognitions and awards for their performances.
