Fire Tower

Just like all of Helga Fanderl’s Super 8 films, Fire Tower is in-camera edited. She creates her silent films in correspondence with the subject matter, in one gesture, as if it were trying to catch the moment in a specific situation. There is no postproduction. Each film reflects the process of its creation and finds a rhythm of its own. The original Super 8 film has been blown-up to 16mm, and the enlarged grain intensifies the dynamics of the images.
