Sanja Iveković was also a member of new art practice, and she strongly inclined towards dynamic-modulatory perception among the early video artists. In this video she’s occupied with finding the relationship between the shooting process and modeling, between shooting and sculptural perception that “monumentizes” its object. Using a simple method she was shooting Dalibor Martinis (with whom she later made many important videos) circling around him and gradually moving the camera from his feet up to his head and further. Although unaware of similarities, her approach was opposite to Tomislav Gotovac’s approach in film Circle (1964): while in Gotovac’s film the camera circled spirally outwards, facing the surroundings, Iveković moved it inwards, with the person as a static (portrait) motive.
