Patterns of the Conquerors is an exploration of Indian fabrics, their history and musealisation. The film enables an almost tactile experience of these extraordinary textile samples, while three voices reflect on their original uses, their symbolic and economic value as well as the violence intrinsic in any act of collecting, ordering and naming.
