“Encruza do Pixel (Pixel Crossroads) is an environment in which I have been researching, fabricating, and corrupting colonialities, wandering in orality, corroding imposed normative knowledge, questioning the semiotics of living and being alive. In this research, I have been communicating with ancestors who pulsate in different spectra.” (Wallace Douglas)
Created by combining analogue photographs with videos recorded using "retro" Fuji-brand cameras, the processed images of Breu Febril are intended by Douglas to function as mnemonic visuals, related to the subjectivity of the unseen narrator. Douglas' image-file "corruptions" emerged out of his exploration of software that "allows for corrupting files to the point of permanent loss." (Federico Windhausen)
