A film about surfaces and two-dimensionality in film, S was inspired by the satirical film Les Carabiniers (1963) and dedicated to the scene displaying postcard images of world sights. With an air of humour, Gotovac films flipping through an adult magazine on his rooftop. Women in the photographs are seen as parallel to the screen surface in a static symmetrical shot, accompanied by the sound of Billie Holiday's Travelin' All Alone.
