Soon after we met, around 2005, we started collaborating on performances using several 16mm projectors. Lynn’s Washi MM (shown earlier in the festival) is one example, and her End Rolls #2, that starts this programme, is another, albeit in re-worked digital form.
The remaining films were all shot digitally over the last few years, and together they represent another side to our practice as artist filmmakers. Shifting back and forth between analogue and digital inevitably gives rise to conversations about the advantages and disadvantages of these distinct media. Lynn was brought up in an increasingly digitised Singapore, and Guy in an exclusively analogue UK, so our native skills in these media have contributed to that exchange.
