Film of the Sea

Takashi Ishida Umino-eiga, JP, 2007, 12', SD video

The monochrome film being screened by the film projector, and the blue paint overflowing from the square screen. The room is filled with the blue paint, and on the other hand the white screen sinks in the room. This is a story of the expansion of the image to express through collapse of space letting a movie conclude. This film was made of the same material as the three screens-installation work Wall of sea. An image of the collapse of the film was just specialized as an expanded film, in the installation work. But, here, an image of the collapse must be constituted in "the film space". As if this film is fighting against "the progress of time of the one screen", one image is repeated like a wave many times as producing a gap of the development. And different music, such as "long silence", "three music about the water of the Morris label", "the sound of a film projector converted by the voice and the water sounds" were composed along the film’s repetition by Adachi Tomomi.
