Mensonges in French means lies. And in French the word mensonges contains the word songes which means dreams. The book seen in the film is the Odyssey of Homer. Ulysses is called "the prince of liars". The pictures lie like the dreams. But the dreams and the pictures are sometimes lies which tell the truth.
