The first day of the 21st 25 FPS Festival is upon us! It is set to open with the exhibition Meaning Distances by visual artist Rosa Barba, at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb. A conversation with the artist will precede the exhibition, while a musical performance by Ivona Eterović, stage name tonota, will be held afterwards.
From September 23 to 27, 2025, the Festival’s film, discursive and expanded cinema programs will be hosted by the Kinoteka Cinema, the Klet Studio Gallery and Histrionski dom.
The opening of Rosa Barba's exhibition Meaning Distances at 7 p.m. will be preceded by a conversation with the artist at 6 p.m., presenting her work and the new edition of the Printed Cinema #25 publication. Rosa Barba’s artistic work includes sculpture, installation and film, with a special emphasis on the influence of human activity on nature, using the basic elements of the film medium – projector, screen, and film strip.
The exhibition will be open until November 9, 2025.
At 8:30 p.m. at the plateau of the Museum of Contemporary Art, we will be treated to a performance by the producer and musician tonota, known for her unconventional approach to club music, marked by experimentation, fusion of ambient and bass music, and occasional inclusion of traditional music. A musical set by Vanessa Minel will round off the evening.
