In addition to film programme, 25 FPS afficionados are welcome to browse through two exhibitions taking place in the Kino SC foyer: Mika Taanila's Film Reader and Projektor by Dušica Dražić and Wim Janssen, which will be launched today at 5pm.
Projektor by Dušica Dražić and Wim Janssen is an installation consisting of a bronze replica of the projector model Iskra NP-21 onto which 35mm colour film is projected, depicting the process of its own making. The sculpture is an homage to the Yugoslav industrial era, kinofication, handmade skills, which today is perceived as a strange object – a technological relic – of a state and an era long gone. Make sure to join us today at 5 pm at the launch of the exhibition, in the pressence of its authors.
Next to the Projektor, make sure not to miss the Film Reader, an exhibition of film publications „re-edited“ to be considered as works of literally moving image: images moved out, erased, cut-out. This ode to mis-remembering and selective daydreaming was originally presented on the Nordic Pavilion at the 57th Venice Biennale, and was made by Mika Taanila, one of our jury members.
Both exhibitions can be seen every day during the festival in the Kino SC foayer.
