Alongside a diverse film program, the 20th edition of 25 FPS Festival will also feature two workshops: Principles of cinema and perception, held by Prague-based experimental filmmaker Jan Kulka and SITE SPECIFIC PLANT DEVELOPER, by filming and experimenting duo Labodoble. The workshops are free, registration is open until September 20th.
The first workshop Principles of cinema and perception is scheduled for the second and third Festival day, September 25 & 26 (from 10 am to 2 pm), and it will be held at the Klubvizija film lab, our co-organizers. As part of his worshop, Jan Kulka will focus on the essential principles of cinema and human perception, examining these from a number of perspectives, historical and cinematographic, filmological as well as personal. Armed with provoking insights by Vilém Flusser and the grandfather of cinema Jan Evangelista Purkyně, Kulka will explore how the film medium has evolved and how our vision actually works.
On September 27 & 28, at the same place and same time (10 am - 2 pm), Alexandra Moralesová and Georgy Bagdasarov, who form the duo Labodoble, will hold their workshop SITE-SPECIFIC PLANT DEVELOPERS, focused on ecology and eco-logics within film processing. The practical workshop will cover the principles of photochemical processes, investigate into sustainable developing strategies and show how film can be developed by exploring our shared habitat and using its potential in ecoprocessing.
The workshops are limited to 8 participants, so make sure to apply by email to tena@25fps.hr, no later than September 20th.
