Using a simple yet highly effective device – relying on the transparency of a sheet of glass – the artist paints images of the sea waves with a brush during the filming process, followed by a possible sunrise, before finally washing away the painted image with water, in a visual interplay between two superimposed layers: the real world and the painting.
